Job Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator position coordinates and supports the operational oversight of the Hospital Volunteer Services program. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public, and our co-workers. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing the privacy of patients’ protected health information.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates volunteer recruitment, training, ongoing education, and support meetings.
- Schedules and tracks volunteers to meet organizational needs.
- Ensures volunteer documentation is timely, appropriate, and accurate.
- Records and maintains statistical information to demonstrate effectiveness of service.
- Performs clerical and administrative support duties as assigned in a prompt, effective, and confidential manner to ensure department efficiency.
- Interacts courteously and effectively with volunteers and all departmental customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and facilitate effective operations.
- Coordinates the annual volunteer recognition event and any other events that support volunteers.
- Performs special projects to meet identified project goals and objectives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency with the Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office required.
- Strong interpersonal; verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Minimum of two years’ administrative experience.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a multi-project environment.
