Coordinator of International Admissions

The Coordinator of International Admissions oversees international student recruitment and enrollment at Parkland College by providing admission, academic, and immigration advising services to meet the needs of the international student population at Parkland College.

The Coordinator of International Admissions is a full-time, 12-month, Professional Support Staff appointment on a schedule established by the Associate Director of Admissions-Recruiting. Internal and external events occasionally necessitate an altered work schedule. This position accesses and handles confidential student information and records. The Coordinator of International Admissions must work effectively with a diverse population in a high-volume environment and requires a level of autonomous productivity.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure Parkland College’s compliance with Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) regulations by serving as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO).
  • Oversee the recruitment and admission of international students by disseminating, collecting, and reviewing applications.
  • Advise students with immigration petitions, applications, and all issues regarding SEVIS compliance.
  • Provide accurate immigration information to international students, monitor and track student immigration status, and maintain appropriate files.
  • Provide guidance for USCIS and visa documentation including monitoring data that is provided to SEVP via the SEVIS system as required by law.
  • Provide academic and language placement referral to students to appropriate campus resources.
  • Assist international students with processing applications for work permits, reinstatements, extensions of stay and other immigration related matters.
  • Develop and present orientation programs for international students.
  • Evaluate recruitment efforts to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR five (5) years related work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Ability to communicate and work with diverse population of people, including individuals whose native language is not English language.
  • Functional ability in Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Organized, adaptable, efficient, professional, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Verbal and mathematical abilities sufficient to produce correspondence, communicate effectively and perform other duties, including excellent use of English grammar are necessary.
  • Ability to learn the Parkland information system, the SEVIS database and new programs as technology changes.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills.

Salary: $47,545.84
