Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly consolidated corporate financial statements for Emterra USA and lead external year-end review;

• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of month-end financial statements

• Manage multi-location financial reporting, including standardization of reporting and review processes

• Provide commentary on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and insight on individual operations across the region.

• Analyze and interpret financial / operational data to forecast profitability and performance against budget;

• Initiate and implement process improvement and accounting control measures; and

• Assume responsibility for the preparation and submission of annual budget

• Coach, train and evaluate performance of direct reports;

• Identify new opportunities that drive financial success;

• Analysis and preparation financial bid package submission

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• Completion of relevant post-secondary education, a Degree in accounting /finance ;

• Professional designation (CA, CGA or CMA) preferred;

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Controller role within a private organization;

• Experience in the waste/recycling, manufacturing, and/or transportation industry considered an asset;

• Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking, and an ability to execute against formulated strategy.

• Strong leadership skills, able to effect positive change through structured training, coaching and engagement initiatives;

• Prior experience managing a team of both direct and indirect reports in a multi-site operating environment;

• Process-oriented thinking with strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented commitment to excellence;

• Exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external stakeholders;

• Strong willingness /capacity to learn industry-specific programs
