Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest-growing kids coding franchise. At our center, kids ages 7-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back.

Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt.

What are we looking for?

We have a team of smart and fun Code Senseis (coding tutors) who share a common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis oversee day-to-day coaching and student engagement and are the lifeblood of our center.

This is a valuable opportunity to sharpen your coding skills while helping children develop theirs. Our Senseis find that Code Ninjas is a valuable stepping stone in their own technology career as they build a resume to attract future internships and employers.

Responsibilities

• Training – go through the curriculum and learn it
• Tutor and engage students
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
• Work with children to determine skill sets
• Provide feedback to management and parents after working with students
• Follow opening/closing duties daily
• Follow cleaning procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and families
• Report management with respect to day’s activities and productivity

Qualifications

• Working history with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.)
• Experience working with the general public
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or child care
• Must enjoy working with children
• Works well with others; collaborates
• Fun, positive attitude
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments
• Must be age 16+ and have reliable transportation
• Must be available year-round
• We train on our curriculum, but experience with JavaScript, Minecraft Modding, Roblox / Lua, Unity 3D / C#, 3D printing, Tinkercad, HTML, or CSS is a bonus

Hours

Part-time, approx. 8-12 hours/week during the school year with additional hours available in the summer. Must be available to work at least two days per week during the school year.

Candidates with education, computer science, and game development majors are strongly encouraged to apply. The starting hourly rate for students with these majors may be higher based on coursework and experience.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays. Compensation is $11.00 - $14.00/hour.
