Cleaning sidewalks, removing debris from sidewalk to curbside. Cleaning bus malls, graffiti removal, clearing street drains of debris and racking leaves. Cleaning tasks to include such activities as sweeping, litter picking, raking and graffiti removal.
Emptying trash receptacles. Positive participation in Job Readiness Program and Classes. Including completing class assignments, coaching meetings, and job search tasks.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleaning sidewalks, removing debris from sidewalk to curbside.
  • Cleaning bus malls, graffiti removal, clearing street drains of debris and racking leaves.
  • Cleaning tasks to include such activities as sweeping, litter picking, raking and graffiti removal.
  • Emptying trash receptacles.
  • Positive participation in Job Readiness Program and Classes. Including completing class assignments, coaching meetings, and job search tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations applicable to the program, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to use cleaning agents such as soap, polish, disinfectants, etc.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to do overhead work.
  • Ability to learn the proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written and oral instruction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Participation in Central City Concern’s Community Volunteer Corps (CVC) program is preferred.
  • Must be able to work individually or with a group.
  • To remain eligible for the trainee program, participants must remain in bi-weekly communication and monthly in person meetings with their Employment Specialist.
  • For those participating as a trainee based on eligibility for any SNAP benefits from Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS), individuals must remain on benefits for duration of the temporary position.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, TB test and background check.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Ace of 1988. An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform duties.
  • Must be able to work in all adverse weather conditions including but not limited to rain, wind, heat, cold, snow and ice.
  • Must generally have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects and climb stairs, with reasonable or no accommodation.
  • Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policies.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, life-styles and sexual orientations and treat individuals with respect and dignity.
