Job Summary

This position is responsible for planning and overseeing the implementation of our Alliance and Channel marketing strategies. This person develops channel-specific strategies, campaigns, and communications.

The Channel Marketing Manager will closely align with partner marketing managers and Channel Sales to execute 1: Many campaigns and activities for the partner base. This individual must also possess strong attention to detail, proficiency in prioritizing and managing tasks and excel at collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Success for this role is measured by YoY growth of our partner base, engagement rate across the Channel, and execution of forward-thinking channel marketing tactics and strategies. This person is accountable for driving indirect revenue through our partner channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Alliance & Channel sales and marketing leadership to build agnostic partner materials, campaigns, and training.
  • Maintain a partner enablement email and training schedule and coordinate with other marketing and sales enablement stakeholders.
  • Utilize data from Salesforce and Pardot to report on and create effective to-partner campaigns and messaging.
  • Engage Alliance and System Integrator partners at scale through thoughtful delivery and promotion of Vertex products and services.
  • Coordinate regularly with Alliance and Channel stakeholders to assure consistency in goals and messaging tactics.
  • Maintain Channel Partner listings on the corporate website.
  • Support partner co-marketing events (virtual and in person) and roadshows with messaging, strategy execution, and on-premises attendance*
  • Targeting specific channels to promote products and services, including pay-per-click advertising, social media platforms, emails, website contents, and SEO strategies.
  • Analyzing market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitor behavior to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Deploying channel marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team, senior managers, and other departments.
  • Responsible for a portion of the APC Marketing budget including reporting, utilization, and ROI tracking.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, business, or in a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of channel marketing experience (technology/software industries preferred, tax industry highly recommended).
  • Strong knowledge of current marketing tactics and trends.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven written and verbal partner communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and marketing automation platforms (Salesforce, Pardot, SalesLoft, On24)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Travel Expectations for the role: 15-20% of the time.
