Introduction

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Center Supervisor who will provide training and supervision of Day/Employment Center staff including report writing, administration, teaching and behavior support that pertain to the adult participants within the Day/Employment program, and maintain regular communication with parents, staff, and regulatory agencies. The highly talented individual must demonstrate a passionate commitment to Eden’s mission and the desire to deliver in a high-value and mission-driven organization. The hours for the position are 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday with flexibility as needed based on Program needs. This position is located in West Windsor, NJ.

*Note: although employees are given specific regular assignments upon being hired by Eden, employees may be assigned to work at different locations (Day and/or Residential) when occasions arise and subject to the needs of the program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision

  • Provide leadership and supervision to the Assistant Supervisor, DSPs/CJCs and substitutes in all aspects of their job responsibilities.
  • Conduct training, Teacher Quality Assessments and Performance Evaluations for all staff; provide feedback and follow-up as needed.
  • Assign and monitor mentors for new staff.
  • Initiate and conduct disciplinary action for staff as necessary.
  • Create and implement daily and weekly schedules to include activities, job placements, transportation assignments, etc.

· Oversee daily operation of assigned Center including creation and implementation of daily schedule, ensuring adequate staff coverage.

· Assist in the hiring process to include screening resumes, and conducting in-person interviews and observations.

Teaching and Behavior Support

· Participate in the development and implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and Individual Support Plans (ISPs) for all participants in center; troubleshoot as needed.

· Ensure data collection on all behavior support programs and review for accuracy and progress.

· Assist in coaching DSPs/CJCs as needed in correct implementation of Professional Crisis Management techniques.

· Ensure consistent implementation of participant’s Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).

· Manage maladaptive behaviors including but not limited to tantrums, self-injury, and aggression.

· Assist in implementation of annual curriculum assessments

Report Writing and Administration

· Record and update data daily in Therap.

· Dispense/oversee medication administration and documentation.

· Maintain participants’ files including medical, dental, ISPs, etc.

· Maintain Center and participant budget-related activities.

· Complete and submit behavioral, clinical, financial, medical and facilities paperwork monthly and/or as necessary

· Complete and submit weekly attendance records and time off requests.

· Maintain time off records for participants and staff.

· Complete and adhere to all necessary purchasing, requisition, and accounting forms and procedures

· Participate in monthly medication check-in with Health & Social Services Coordinator and/or Adult Services Nurse.

· Oversee all components of the Center’s Care and Nutrition Program.

Facilities

· Perform light facility-based maintenance duties to include changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets and drains, simple furniture repairs, trash removal, moving small pieces of furniture as needed, and maintaining an uncluttered environment.

· Report any maintenance issues/needs to the Facilities Department.

Communication/Meetings

· Maintain responsive, professional and proactive communication with families and colleagues.

· Schedule and conduct regular meetings for staff and for participants.

· Attend monthly Supervisor’s meetings and/or trainings.

· Ensure quarterly communication with DDD case managers.

· Notify management and/or the Director of Day and Employment Services immediately of any situation which compromises the safe and effective operation of Adult Services and the participants it serves.

· Cooperate with Eden Autism Services and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection or investigation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Social Services or related field is preferred;

Experience/Certifications: Minimum three (3) years of direct care work experience, preferably with developmentally disabled individuals; one (1) year supervisory experience; Fee for Service/Therap certification a plus

Training and Other Requirements: Must complete and pass Entry Level and Professional Crisis Management Training, along with all DDD required trainings; valid driver’s license is required with record in good standing (5 points or less).

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, stoop, and/or reach above shoulder level for extended periods of time (up to 30 minutes) during the work day.

· Vision requirements to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to pass and maintain Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certification at a P2 level on an annual basis, including implementation of all strategies and techniques.

· Ability to move or be moved freely and quickly to ensure the safety of students/participants at all times.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

· Familiarity with ISPs including development and implementation.

· Ability to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of applied behavior analysis.

· Proven commitment to helping individuals with autism and their families and willingness to support the organization’s mission and growth.

· Demonstrated ability to ensure organizational compliance with contractual and regulatory bodies.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals and groups, both internally and externally.

· Strong ability to analyze an issue or problem and make recommendations for an effective and efficient resolution.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

· Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service on a consistent basis.

  • Beginner to intermediate proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel.

COVID-19 Statement and Vaccine Mandate

We adhere to CDC guidelines. Employees are required to wear a mask as needed based on COVID cases, as well as must complete a health questionnaire and have their temperature taken daily. We require strict adherence to all sanitation guidelines including frequent handwashing and six (6) feet social distancing.

Vaccine Mandate: Governor Murphy’s Executive Order No. 283 requires employees who work in a covered setting provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster doses. The "covered settings" listed in the Governor's Executive Order include all of Eden's residences and day programs. Therefore, documentation of vaccine status must be provided to Human Resources; if you are unvaccinated, you must obtain your first dose of the primary series of COVID-19 vaccine prior to your start/training date.

If you are already vaccinated, you must provide documented proof that you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination, including receiving a booster shot. That means that you must have both vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) and your booster dose five (5) months later, or the single dose J&J vaccine and your booster dose two (2) months later.
