JOB SUMMARY:
Performs highly complex substance abuse counseling work. Work involves treating and rehabilitating clients in a substance abuse treatment or rehabilitation program; and training others. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
JOB DESCRIPTION: SHIFT 9am-5pm
Interviews, screens, and assesses clients for service needs and potential program participation; develops and implements treatment plans; and participates in educational groups in compliance with Substance Abuse Treatment Program standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Provides substance abuse counseling and recovery skills training. Implements follow-up and after care plans for client that participate in the program prior to their release; and disseminates information on community resources for client placement in follow-up treatment. * Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent.
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in the treatment of adults with addictive diseases or experience in inpatient treatment preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Active Ohio Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)
