A Care Partner provides assistance with all activities of daily living (including all aspects or resident personal care) and performs household tasks essential to the maintenance of the resident's health and safety within a group home setting. He or she must be willing to do cooking, housework, personal/custodial care and all domestic services required to maintain a house. After certification from a state approved source, Care Partners will also assist with medication management.

Requirements:


  • Must be 18 years or older and able to read and write consistent with job requirements.
  • Must be in good health and be free of communicable disease and have recent medical physical and valid TB testing and related documentation.
  • Capable of exercising good judgment and flexibility in meeting resident needs.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPPA rules.
  • Must have valid certification in basic CPR and First Aid or eligible for such certification and meet the state certification guidelines for a Care Partner in this type of Residential Care Home.
  • Must meet the State of Nevada's qualifications to be an Administrator by Proxy.
  • Experience as a Care Partner in a residential, long-term care, acute care or home health environment preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds and /or assist residents with transfers without straining.
  • Care Partners must be kind, compassionate, patient and, have a sincere interest in the health and wellbeing of others. Also be of good moral character and personal integrity, exhibit honesty and trust when dealing with residents, family members and staff.
  • Care Partners are expected to be self-starters and proactive in doing any tasks they see that need to be done, as well, as helping coworkers when asked to do so. This job requires initiative, follow through, and team work to adequately provide a wide range of care services to this frail, dependent group of residents.
  • Must interact well with and be fair and considerate to residents, staff and family. Good communication and a positive collegial attitude toward other staff are essential to providing quality care. Quality, continuity of care, and teamwork are required in this care setting that provides protective supervision and care to a group of frail seniors many of whom also have cognitive impairment. Working as a team and speaking the resident’s native language which is usually is English, is essential to meet their care needs and reducing a senior's confusion.
