Position Summary
Administers the Phase I, II and III cardiac rehab programs.

Orlando Health Medical Group Pulmonary Department

****Located in Dowtown Orlando****
Responsibilities:
  • Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, administers the Phase I, II and III cardiac rehab programs, which include passive/active assistive exercises, participation in the multidisciplinary team conferences and patient education.
  • Demonstrates competency in unit specific tasks and skills as outlined in the unit specific competency list.
  • Documents according to unit specific policies and guidelines.
  • Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in nursing Quality Assurance audits as assigned.
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Practices efficient use of supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized unit.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of patient needs, equipment use, cardiac rehab goals and principles of adult education.
  • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures.
