$15.50 an hour
Accepting applications for full time or relief (scheduled as needed) Campus Safety Officer positions. NYS Guard license required. Previous experience and familiarity with security equipment preferred. $15.50 hourly for day shifts and $16.50 hourly for evening and night shifts. AAS degree in criminal justice, previous security or law enforcement experience preferred. Our Campus Safety Officers will model the values and culture of the organization to colleagues and the public by being welcoming, inclusive, and respectful and will value collaboration across the institution.
Must be available to work all shifts, especially nights, weekends and holidays. Our Campus Safety Officers respond in a professional and courteous manner to all interactions and to respond quickly with professional judgment during emergencies.
Campus Safety Officers perform campus patrol and dispatch responsibilities during each shift with inside and outside rounds of campus and buildings, alternating at dispatch desk. Must be able to react appropriately and quickly in emergency situations. Investigate accidents and incidents and submit timely reports. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required. Must be able to operate communications equipment such as two-way radio, CCTV and security alarms. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, faculty and visitors an integral part of position. Previous experience as radio dispatcher/telephone operator preferred.
