- Design and implement new features and scalability improvements to serve 2D/3D geospatial content
- Propose and discuss improvements in backend system architecture, especially in scalability and efficiency aspects
- Work closely with teams responsible for generating, serving, and consuming 3D assets across the ArcGIS platform
- Implement and maintain REST services running on private/public cloud infrastructure
- 3+ years of experience in at least one modern language such as C/C++, Golang, Java/Kotlin
- Experience contributing to large scale distributed systems, multi-tenant systems (architecture, reliability, and scaling)
- Strong experience with REST service designs
- In-depth knowledge in common backend technologies such as AWS, Azure, Spark, RDBMS, Kubernetes, etc.
- Good sense for designing highly scalable and highly reliable backend systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field, depending on position level (master's preferred)
- Experience with data visualization, mapping, and GIS
- Experience with big data technologies such as HDFS, Spark, Cassandra
- Familiarity with ArcGIS or other web mapping technologies
