As a member of our Pediatric Team, you will be responsible for:

• The Behavior Specialist plays a crucial role in direct hands on care, implementing behavioral strategies, behavior plan implementation, and skill acquisition to the residents. The Behavior Specialist participates in the development and implementation of individualized behavior plans through observation and data collection. Data collection will include observational, anecdotal, subjective and objective will be synthesized in a holistic care philosophy to provide realistic management of behavioral concerns. The Behavior Specialist acts as a liaison between psychology/behavior and other disciplines so that behavior change can be implemented effectively and consistently. The Behavior Specialist reports to the Director of TR/CL and works under the clinical supervision of the VPF consulting psychologist.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or other related Health Care Service field of study

2. 2 years experience in behavior strategies and interventions preferred

3. Pediatric experience in medical settings preferred

4. Experience working with children with medical complexity, chronic illness, disability

5. Ability to supervise groups of infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities in a safe manner.

6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with healthcare providers and the families

7. Ability to function independently, and as a team member of the TR/CL Department and Interdisciplinary team

8. CPR/ BLS certification
