Attorney I Job at NYISO
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO’s Legal department invites applications for a full-time attorney.
The successful candidate will become a member of a highly-qualified team of professionals in an exciting, innovative and ever-changing environment. This individual will work collaboratively with internal clients, providing legal support on issues such as the interconnection of new resources and transmission planning. This individual will provide legal support and advice on the administration of NYISO tariff requirements and in the stakeholder process. This individual will also prepare tariff filings and pleadings that are submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), be responsible for preparing other types of legal documents, and advise NYISO clients on applicable regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials required.
- A minimum of two years of experience practicing before FERC, or similar experience, is desired.
- Prior experience with an ISO/RTO, public utility, or law firm is also desired.
- License to practice law required; admission to bar in New York is desired.
