Job Summary


The Associate Vice President directs the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of assigned college-wide non- academic programs, initiatives and related functions including establishing and administering strategic operations for Administrative Services departments.

Essential Functions


20% Provides administrative oversight of Facilities, Employee Services, and Cafe, including auxiliary services. Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates work of employees and managers, to include ensuring overall accountability of functional activity for the divisions for which responsible; handles complex inquiries and complaints. Serves as knowledge expert in area of assignment, overseeing, reviewing and providing analyses and recommendations regarding function-specific and college-wide issues.
20% Develops, monitors, and participates in setting and achieving college-wide, facilities, Café and Employee Services strategies, goals, and objectives through coordination with division personnel, and college and district leaders. Drives the tactical, strategic and long-range planning and collaborates and coordinates with college and district leaders.
20% Serves as a second in command for Administrative Services and when away from the college, acts on behalf of the Vice President of Administrative Services.
20% Leads the development of: preventative maintenance program, equipment replacement program and Employee Services goals and objectives in line with college-wide strategic objectives.
20% Directs and oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of initiatives, programs, policies and procedures; ensures policy direction is implemented across the college; leads change; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications for Student Affairs or non-academic pathway: Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or field related to area of assignment and four years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in field of assignment that includes two years of supervisory experience. Examples of student affairs academic support management/leadership experience includes: program management, project management, budget development and management related to programs or projects, staff supervision, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance. Equivalency allowed for Non Academic area.

OR

Minimum Qualifications for Academic pathway: Master's Degree in a teaching field related to area(s) of assignment and four years of experience in an academic leadership and/or supervisory role in higher education and three years of teaching that includes curriculum/coursework development. Examples of academic leadership/supervisory experience includes: division/department chair, project management, policy development, administration, evaluation and compliance, committee leadership, program director, and shared governance. No equivalency.

Desired Qualifications


A. Master's Degree in a field related to Facilities Management, Human Resources, or Business

B. Five or more years of experience with financial management and budget development

C. Five or more years of experience with management in one or more of the areas of responsibility (Facilities, Human Resources, or Business). Examples include risk management, strategic planning, and construction management

D. Two or more years of experience with using change management techniques

E. Experience directing the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards

F. Experience directing the analysis, evaluation and interpretation of written materials and statistical data for reports and recommendations

G. Experience working in a multi-college/multi-site environment

Special Working Conditions


May require numerous evenings and/or weekends. May be required to work at multiple sites or locations. May be required to view a computer screen for prolonged periods. May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
