Architect, Software Engineer in Test
WHAT WE SEEK
The Software Engineer in Test Architect will be responsible for designing testing frameworks to effectively test our software products. This person will provide technical leadership and support in the design and implementation of automated testing solutions and integration into our CI/CD pipeline. In this role, you will seek opportunities to implement test early and test often strategies.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

  • Define software quality standards and practices across the organization
  • Create and/or leverage existing frameworks for manual and automated testing
  • Design and engineer re-usable and modular framework components that can be leveraged by multiple teams in a customizable manner
  • Provide technical leadership in design and architecture of test frameworks and facilitate support and adoption of the frameworks across the organization
  • Educate and Train the Quality Engineering team on tools and techniques
  • Work with SRE team to ensure environments are configured appropriately including test data
  • Responsible for quality assessment reviews and escape analysis efforts
  • Responsible for risk management activities throughout the product life cycle
  • Participate in new product roadmap and technical design reviews, and provide guidance on testing new functionality
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify the solutions that meet their needs
  • Provide expertise on system dependencies and risk mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with scrum teams to strategize & align on test automation roadmaps
  • Lead and participate in performance and security testing, and identify gaps and opportunities to optimize performance and mitigate security risks
  • Report directly to VP Quality Engineering to ensure discipline of Test Engineering across Platform and Products

WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR BACKPACK

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
  • 10+ years of relevant QA technical experience with at least 4+ years in a lead role
  • 3+ years working as Test Automation Architect (or similar), including proven experience in designing and implementing Automation Testing frameworks supporting all aspects of testing (API, integration, database, UI, performance and security)
  • Software development skills, e.g. Java, TypeScript, Python and understanding of software development methodologies
  • Experience with deployment tools, build/release automation and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience driving change and an advocate for quality being a team responsibility
  • Experience with large data set creation, back-end testing (SQL), being able to validate information as it flows throughout the system
  • Exposure to Amazon AWS, or other cloud platforms
  • Experience with troubleshooting installs, server performance and monitoring logs
  • Test mindset, understanding risk in every step
  • Working collaboratively with team members in a dynamic environment
  • Passion and drive for automation and sound engineering practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities
