Youth Specialist Job at Pathway Caring for Children

Position Summary:
A support specialist is responsible for meeting the basic needs of all clients assigned to their direct care and supervision. A youth support specialist has the ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with clients, families, coworkers, and the public. This position requires the ability to develop professional relationships with clients while demonstrating a genuine concern for, understanding of, and willingness to help. A support specialist is able to provide structure through Strengths-focused with an emphasis on building resilience with a trauma-informed perspective, our team works collaboratively to remove or reduce barriers to health, hope and happiness. This may include providing one on one mentoring, group support, transportation, or childcare for training. You will work with a dedicated, passionate network of counselors, social workers, case managers, community partners and other mental health professionals working toward a common goal. In short, a Mentor & Role Model for kids.
Basic Function:
The Support Specialist must have the ability, energy, flexibility and maturity to relate to children, youth and adults. He/she must display the motivation and desire to learn and develop appropriate childcare skills and meet all the employment qualifications as outlined in the standard for a child caring organization. This position is responsible for providing direct supervision of clients at all times and being a positive role model and mentor.
Qualifications:
At least a high school education or equivalent
One year experience with children
Must have valid driver's license
Clean background
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must successfully complete and pass all state accrediting bodies' training requirements
