Seeking Super Hero to work with our Teens at our Kenai Teen Center located at 227 Caviar Street, Kenai Alaska.

Clubhouse Staff Person Defined as: Primary Duties:

Job Description Primary Duties and Expectations

1. Actively plans and implements all components of assigned program and special events

2. Takes direction from Unit Director in assigned tasks

3. Obtains approval from Unit Director for any expenditures

4. Maintains an organized and clean program area

5. Purchases and Issues program supplies with Unit Director Approval

6. Submits timely and accurate program plans and program evaluations

7. Works cooperatively and maintains a professional relationship with Unit Director, B&GC staff, volunteers, parents, sponsors and participants at all times.

8. Interprets and promotes B&GC mission and policies to the general public

9. Registers and orients new members

10. Enthusiastically promotes interest in activities

11. Implements special activities, programs and projects

12. Promotes self-esteem among clubhouse members

13. Models positive actions

14. Other duties as needed and directed

Expectations:

Required Skills/Knowledge:

The requirements detailed below must be initially satisfied prior to final candidate consideration:

1. Ability to interpret and implement B&GC programs and keep kids safe

2. Ability to plan and direct age appropriate programs and activities

3. Ability to make decisions and meet commitments within policies

4. Ability to follow directions

5. Ability to deal with youth fairly and objectively

6. Ability to work with youth of all backgrounds, with special concern for those from disadvantaged circumstances, and have the ability to help boys and girls develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders

7. Demonstrated competency and experience with:

a) Oral and written communication

b) Implementing youth development activities

c) Education / training

d) High school diploma minimum, college coursework preferred

e) Previous successful experience in related field required

f) Valid Alaska driver’s license (if driving a Club van)

g) Child Development Training

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Physical requirements include but not limited to physical exertion such as lifting, stretching and bending in a school/Club setting and can include sitting and standing for long periods. Will include walking/guiding/escorting children to and from areas and field trips. Will require interaction with youth 5-18 and can be noisy at times. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Ability to work and adapt to varied weather conditions. Must be able to perform First Aid/CPR on members on ground level. Must have adequate vision and hearing to safely monitor and respond to members, co-workers and outside community members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • After school
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
