Position: Yard Laborer

We are currently seeking a Yard Laborer to join our Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. team at our Field Service Center. There will be a focus on working directly our Yard Foreman as well as helping maintain our York Headquarters, yard and facilities. This is including but not limited to loading and unloading trucks and construction equipment, sorting and stacking materials, and utilizing equipment such as forklifts and dollies. Experience in construction is preferred, experience working in yards helpful. This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications:

• Experience in construction preferred, experience working in yards helpful
• Ability to work hands on with tools and equipment, stand long periods
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Essential Functions:

Reporting to the Yard Foreman, the Yard Laborer essential functions will include:

• Loading and unloading construction materials and equipment manually or using forklifts, dollies, hand trucks or cranes
• Inspecting materials; sorting and or stacking incoming equipment and materials
• Preparing equipment and materials, according to work orders, for transport to projects, etc.
• Cleaning and washing various construction equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
• Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
• Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
• It also requires the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height—and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions:

• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds from ground level to waist level.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
• Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
• Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
