Number of Positions: 1

Summary: Provides objective assessment, counseling and educational services to participants in a workshop setting. Also provides Case Manager with individual participant information essential for objective assessment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provides case management services to program participants.

2. Provides counseling to participants, such as job and career counseling.

3. Provides ongoing workshops to participants (i.e., self-esteem, work habits, family counseling and other topics) to encourage continued participation in direct training activities.

4. Participates in case management staffing with support staff and/or participants to evaluate ISS and recommend corrective measures when necessary.

5. Assesses participant skill levels using various assessment tools.

6. Provides Case Managers with essential participant information identified during workshop activities for including in the IEP.

7 Participates in training workshops related to objective assessment, motivational workshop techniques, parenting and teaching methods.

8. Assists Case Manager by referring participants, after objective assessment, to appropriate programs services most appropriate to meet participant needs.

9. Provides pre-employment and work-maturity skills to participants.

10. Conducts outreach in a workshop setting to encourage participation in program activities.

11. Assists in gathering initial assessment information.

12. Assists participants to determine their own suitability for program services.

13. Provides employer outreach in a workshop setting to disseminate information about program activities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or six years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. May be required to be certified in Anger Management and/or Parenting/Family Wellness instruction.

COMPUTER: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation and California drivers license and minimum auto insurance required by law. May be required to be certified in Anger Management and/or Parenting/Family Wellness instruction.
