Exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing electrical equipment manufacturer WASP in their critical power division. WASP is an international business involved in critical power & filtration solutions with offices in Illinois, United Kingdom and Poland.

Wireman

As a Wireman you will be responsible for assembling electrical enclosures by mounting components and wiring the assemblies. The successful candidates will have hands-on knowledge of hand tools and powered hand tools, and will be able to read drawings, process sheets or work instructions. The Wireman position will be responsible for being meticulous to ensure the success of the company.

You will work alongside the engineering teams to assemble customised solutions that meet customers’ needs. Reporting to the Site Leader you will take responsibility for these particularly important duties with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.

A comprehensive understanding of switchgear is essential. The Wireman role is a vital position, so you should expect to share knowledge and support the team at every level by being ambitious, flexible and fun.

Wireman Responsibilities

  • Read, understand and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions and wiring diagrams.
  • Compile components based on bill of material.
  • Layout control panel mechanical arrangements using squares, rules, etc.
  • Mount equipment by drilling, tapping, and cutting enclosures and panels per prints and hardware instructions.
  • Wire various control panel products in preparation for test and final inspection per UL 508A and NFPA 70 requirements.
  • Apply hand tools to ensure correct torque.
  • Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards.
  • Operate computerized terminal, wire labeling and engraving equipment.
  • Perform testing of control panels which may include 480VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC and 24V DC.
  • Document Quality Control and problem resolution logs.
  • Perform re-work of wiring and assembly at request and guidance of Quality Control technicians.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Assist with receiving and organization of project and stock material.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience:

· High school education or equivalent.

· Electrical troubleshooting skills coupled with a strong mechanical ability.

· Ability to use solder Iron to attach wiring.

· Proficiency using hand and power tools in a safe manner.

· Strong attention to detail and organization.

· Technical curiosity is critical.

· Meticulous .

· Possess an organised, methodical, and systematic approach to work.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $15.00 per hour
