Job Description:

  • The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish) and a resident of Prince William County with ties to the community. At a minimum, candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. with at least 6 years of relevant work experience or a college degree with 2 or more years of relevant work experience. Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply as well.
  • Prior experience in public service, social services/impact, education, community development, non-profit organizations or volunteerism or similar roles would be an asset. The ideal candidate needs to be adept with technology devices, applications and using the internet to teach basics at the true beginner to early intermediate level but is not expected to be an IT expert. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and a commitment to client success and satisfaction are required. A strong track record of success helping people or organizations achieve their goals through collegial teamwork is highly desired.
  • The ideal candidate is self-directed, strategic, creative, highly motivated, highly organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment to achieve outcomes that matter for County’s residents. Candidate is comfortable working on the go from different locations across the County based on needs and class scheduling. The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills with understanding on when each type should be used according to the culture of each group, whether county government, community groups, or residents, providing information or serving as an instructor. Effective listening skills and the ability to adapt to the culture of each organization or group is critical.
  • Candidates should be detail-oriented and data-driven, developing metrics for tracking the success of the program and participants that can be used to improve overall program performance, bring positive visibility to the County as a digital inclusion leader, as well as to support grant and other funding opportunities to support program goals. Experience developing or administering grants would be a plus.
  • The best candidate is at-ease with themselves and puts others at-ease, enjoys teamwork, and can speak comfortably, confidently, and compassionately with staff at all levels and above all with the community members we serve.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.00 - $41.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift

  • Microsoft office, google docs, IWork: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Digital literacy training: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication: 2 years (Preferred)
