The Vice President, Regional Sales leads new business growth initiatives in the market. Develops and executes short- and long-term sales strategies to grow market share in the market. Collaborates with sales peers and other internal departments through the discovery sales process and strategy development to best position the Company to win new business in the markets. Aligns internal personnel in presenting options and solutions to prospective clients. Establishes and enhances high level relationships with brokers, consultants, providers and other key centers of influence and business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains positive and effective external distribution and key decision maker relationships to ensure positive new business growth for the NE OH group market. This role will assume responsibility for meeting new business objectives for the region. Projects a positive public image for the company. Will serve on multiple non-profit boards. Attend pertinent functions in the region to ensure the company’s interests are properly represented.
  • Works closely with senior sales leadership including but not limited to (Regional Vice Presidents, VP National Accounts, Sr Director, Strategic Accounts. VP, Small Group and the two large group sales consultants) to develop and maintain key pipeline of information pertaining to potential prospects in the universe of groups for the group market. Works with the sales team to develop strategies to leverage relationships which give us our greatest opportunity to win new business.
  • Works closely with the Regional VP in the development and execution of a strategic sales plan including but not limited to effective tactics to positively grow the MMO market share in NE OH.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years progressive sales/marketing management experience in the financial services industry, preferably in the health insurance sector.
  • Successful track record of meeting and exceeding new sales objectives and quotas.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Current Ohio Department of Insurance license or successful completion of Ohio Department of Insurance licensing within 4 months of hire.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong pipeline and sales management skills
  • Solid knowledge of CRM systems
  • Proven ability to build and execute strategic sales plans
  • A demonstrated in-depth knowledge of health insurance products, health care funding arrangements and the health insurance industry

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Generally, performs work in an office setting.
  • Ability to regularly travel to offsite locations.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and adequate insurance coverage per Company policy.
