Overview

We are looking for a Vice President, Corporate to join the Ketchum technology team! Your role will be two-fold: you’ll serve as corporate communications lead primary client lead on technology brands; and you’ll help lead, shape and grow our technology team and client portfolio.

Ideally, you’ll combine deep corporate background in the technology industry with a passion for how technology is shaping the global agenda. You’ll share Ketchum’s philosophy that technology is as much a horizontal discipline as a vertical specialty, and you’ll have experience driving storytelling that matters at the intersection of technology and the worlds it powers and disrupts: financial and professional services, healthcare, transportation, sports and entertainment, retail and more.

You’ll be a strong leader and mentor, with an equal knack for growing both talent and business.

About the Job

  • Show – and continue to grow – a deep understanding of the technology industry and competitive environment; leverage this information in preparing and presenting focused programs and recommendations to clients and prospects
  • Demonstrate a keen appreciation for the earned media landscape and how it’s changing the craft of communications
  • Serve as senior agency contact to a cornerstone account; lead and direct all strategic and programmatic efforts to ensure client satisfaction; bring a value-added approach to all issues and projects
  • Grow and maintain relationships with senior clients to engender long term agency loyalty
  • Generate incremental business opportunities with existing client base; encourage and train account teams on doing the same
  • Function as key player in pursuing new business opportunities and in leading the proposal and presentation processes
  • Lead your account team to deliver exceptional quality of service, and be accountable for your team’s career growth
  • Help grow the wider technology sector as a member of the Technology Leadership Team, fostering talent and creating an inclusive culture that represents Ketchum’s values
  • Act as a responsible steward of clients’ budgets and Ketchum’s financials by accurate and timely accounting processes and managing utilization, in partnership with the finance and HR teams
  • Stay on top of PR trends in the industry; bring them to the attention of clients and associates, as appropriate

Qualifications

We’re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing or a related field preferred
  • A minimum of ten years of agency and/or corporate/technology public relations experience-(expertise in "corporate" reputation management, message development, media strategy, strategic communications and global/international experience is a plus)
  • Must have demonstrated skills and success in building, owning and driving programs. Previous/current experience as the direct client contact and building plans.
  • Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including proposal planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling.
  • Proven track record in growing business.
  • Direct experience in building and managing teams comprised of professional and non-exempt personnel

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $165,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
