We seek an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing team at Happy Valley Veterinary Hospital in Happy Valley, OR. In this role, you will be working alongside a team of professionals to deliver outstanding care to pets. The Certified Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing this maximum level of care and excellent customer service to the owners and other team members. **MUST BE TRAINED IN SURGERY AND HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE**

Job Duties – General

  • Check-in patients – vitals, chief complaint, review records.
  • Record case history, weight, temperature, and other details.
  • Prepare animals for exams or surgery.
  • Perform dentals and extractions as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Give animals nursing care or first aid.
  • Collect and test lab samples.
  • Administer medications, shots, or treatments as directed by a Veterinarian.
  • Update patient records and post charges in the electronic medical record-keeping system.
  • Perform laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, heartworm testing, feline leukemia tests, and blood counts.
  • Take x-rays.
  • Maintain and use medical equipment such as IDEXX, Lab machines, ultrasound, dental machines, and digital.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Assist and perform dental procedures.
  • Prepare animals for surgery.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia.
  • Stabilize animals during examination and treatment.
  • Trim nails, clean ears, express anal glands, remove sutures and perform other routine procedures.
  • Provide primary education on animal care, nutrition, and medical conditions.
  • Teach clients how to administer medicines at home.
  • Recommend products for optimal wellness, such as vitamins, supplements, dental cleaning, flea control, geriatric care, and dietary measures.
  • Maintain animal records and billing information.
  • Prepare and label medications to be sent home with the patient.
  • Clean and organize examination rooms.

Job Requirements: * Certified Veterinary Technician with the license in good standing.

  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Passionate about serving the pets in our community!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour
