Veterinary Surgery Floor Supervisor Job at Summit Veterinary Referral Center
Summit Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to be our new Surgery Department Floor Supervisor.
The Surgery Department Floor Supervisor is responsible for OR duties including:
- Anesthetic monitoring, performing radiographs, scrub assisting, OR circulation, patient recovery, husbandry tasks and keeping detailed patient records.
- must have excellent communication skills with the department managers, doctors, and other support staff in order to perform the work as delegated and produce quality results.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated individual who can prioritize tasks in a high stress, fast-paced environment.
- Be able to diffuse any problematic situations and address them to the department managers appropriately.
- Assists in making training protocols and training material
- Trains and mentors new Surgery Department support staff
- Portrays a positive role model for all employees; keeps the environment focused and calm; especially during high stress moments
- Maintains communication with the management team and assists them in employee oversight
- Assists the management team in developing and updating patient care systems
- Ensures duties are completed satisfactorily by the conclusion of their delegated shift
- Ensures surgery protocols are followed
- Continues to be a team member and assists in daily patient care/procedures
- Assists the management team in daily floor responsibilities and coverage; proactively plans for the day accordingly
