The City of Weatherford’s Water Utility Department is looking to hire a Utility Line Locator. This position will perform work related to locating underground utilities and will assist in the maintenance of the GIS, water, and wastewater System. Roles & Responsibilities Include:
- Utilizes site plans, area maps, blueprints, and electronic equipment to locate City owned utility lines.
- Schedules and completes utility line locate tickets within 48 hours of dispatch; maintains records of all work pending and completed.
- Tracks and monitors utility line locate excavation job sites; documents each contractor, plumber and or telephone company digging in the area.
- Aides the GIS division in updating utility line mapping system to encompass decommissioned and or newly installed lines.
- Receives and responds to engineering staking sheet requests, reports contractor or in house crew deviation activities from design plans.
- Must maintain a regular, reliable, and punctual time and attendance. Will be required to respond to stand by or emergency calls.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Two years of experience in locating water and wastewater utility lines. • Must possess a Class C Water Certification or the ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment. • Must possess a Class I Wastewater Certification or the ability to obtain within 180 days of employment. • Must possess a valid Class A Texas CDL Driver License or the ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment.
