Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Provides related administrative, academic support and student services, including but not limited to undergraduate nursing student advisement, orientation activities and maintains an accurate record of advising and student databases.
Prospective Student Inquiries & University Directed Student Activities/Events: Manages regular inquiries about the undergraduate program. Serves as campus resource for undergraduate nursing student recruitment events and services/activities. Conducts regularly scheduled prospective student information sessions through individual and group appointments, as well as on-line. Assists with other CON/university activities to include, but not limited to: university directed recruitment events, open house, admitted student days, etc.
OAA Services/Activities/Events: Assists Office of Academic Affairs with activities to include, but not limited to convocation, job fair, senior pictures, Fall Expo, stethoscope ceremonies, CON directed recruitment and student events/activities, etc. Promotes professional and positive image of university/college.
Milestones Monitoring/Interventions & Academic Data & Technology: Responsible for monitoring student progress towards upper division and completion of degree. Manages undergraduate nursing student academic data, milestones monitoring, and academic interventions/re-advising related to progression, probation, attrition, and graduation, etc. Maintains accurate records of advising and ensures confidentiality of student records across multiple software systems. Utilizes technology and online resources that enable efficient and effective advising and student monitoring.
Advising & Orientation: Conducts academic advisement for undergraduate nursing students on course selection, progression requirements, institutional and college policies/procedures. Serves as primary resource support for advisees. Guides students in academic planning and student development. Introduces students to beyond the classroom opportunities. Assists with upper division enrollment/clinical requirements. Participates in development of and conducts freshman, transfer, and upper division orientations.
Training & Development & Other Duties: Assists with development of and participates in advising training to keep up-to-date on university and college policies, advising techniques, resources, etc. Provides data for surveys, questionnaires, grants, and other reports on request. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 4 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of undergraduate nursing program requirements and university policies affecting student matriculation and progression, skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, and other software; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
