Under general supervision of the Director of Radiology, the Ultrasound Technologist operates Ultrasound Imaging Systems to safely produce diagnostic images of various anatomical body parts for evaluation and interpretation by the radiologist. At all times, work assignments will be determined by adjustment ofpatient census and scheduled examinations. As determined by the Director of Radiology, the Ultrasound Technologist will be assigned up to eighty (80) hours per pay period. On call hours for this position is required. The Ultrasound Technologist is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization. Will be responsible to assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to unit. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Will be responsible to document total care given, review and maintain patient chart per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into computer system. Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is nonnegotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.

1. Must be able to operate current Ultrasound machines.

2. Must be able to scan patients and get diagnostic information for the radiologist to interpret.

3. Must be able to perform all necessary CQI as needed in the daily operation of the equipment.

4. Able to perform all assigned duty without direct supervision.

5. Determines correct factors and positions to obtain diagnostic results.

6. Demonstrates appropriate health, safety and aseptic techniques.'
