JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Gemini Industries, Inc. is an asset-based company that provides reliable transportation of goods to internal and external customers throughout the US. Gemini prides itself on delivering products on time and in accordance with customer specifications. This is an over the road driver position that will haul product across the continental US to various locations. This position will run multiple lanes across the US, varying based on delivery needs. This position interfaces with customers and should maintain an acceptable appearance and conduct themselves according to company policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for safely operating a tractor/trailer in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws and in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

Must adhere to all FMCSA requirements of those holding a Commercial Drivers License

Comply with all requirements for safe and legal transportation of hazardous materials.

Maintains records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including drivers record of duty status, mileage records and other records required by law.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer prior to each trip and at the end of each trip.

Applies knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather.

Must be able to operate equipment in all types of weather and conditions. This includes backing up long distances, around corners and around tight areas.

Load and unload goods using forklift or pallet jacks. Connect or disconnect trailers at destination.

Ability to interact co-operatively and professionally with customers.

Must keep truck and trailer clean and in acceptable appearance to company standards.

Maintain a positive attitude in all situations.

Be willing to complete any other job duties assigned by management.

Follow all company rules and policies.

Requirements:

Class A CDL

Hazmat Endorsement

3 Years Commercial Driving Experience

Excellent Driving Record

Tanker Endorsement (Must be obtained within 90 days of employment)

High School Diploma or GED preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:

Must be able to drive a tractor trailer for a period of time that will conform to FMCSA requirements.

Must be capable of dropping/hooking trailers which involves cranking landing gear, pulling 5th wheel pin which takes approximately 65 lbs. of pressure; and maneuvering a trailer dolly.

Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.

Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Talk or hear, taste or smell.
