Job Summary
The TRIO Student Support Services Student Assistant is a valuable component within the TRIO Student Support Services program that is responsible for keeping an organized TRIO computer lab, tutoring TRIO SSS students and assisting the TRIO SSS staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the computer lab while on duty
- Tutor TRIO SSS students
- Keep the computer lab neat and organized
- Assist in maintaining an updated inventory of equipment
- Notify the Administrative Assistant of any computer lab needs
- Respond to Microsoft Teams student messages
- Attend regular TRIO SSS staff meetings
- Keep an accurate record of hours worked and submit timesheet when due
- Assist TRIO SSS staff with assigned duties
- Welcoming guests, explaining program and services
- Assist with recruiting students
- Contact assigned TRIO SSS students
- Provide TRIO SSS staff of student related ideas
- Maintain social media pages
- Help promote facility activities and organize special events.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student at AMSC in good standing
- Knowledge of TRIO SSS program is preferred
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently
