JOB Description /Triage
- Check schedules for available appts. For providers and U/S.
- Check E-mail
- Call any patients to check on from prior day, or with answers from providers
- Take emergent calls
- Call back regular calls triaging need for work in, Post OP, Advice or Instructions, any PO complications, OB questions, and concerns, complications
- Send patients to ER or L&D for evaluation making sure all info is sent accordingly
- Refill Rx’s for Providers whose nurse is not in or pts needing immediate medication
- Schedule pt for same day work ins and or future appts
- Mail labs results or copies with u/s per pt request
- Mail or fax lab and u/s orders for out of town patients
- Contact home health agencies with orders for IV meds, wound care, injection teaching
- Skilled nursing assessing, condition, symptoms, concerns, and route accordingly
- Speak with on call MD or ARNP’s regarding emergent calls, if needed
- Triage “walk in patients” work in accordingly based on symptoms/ call pt per cell phone
- Schedule emergent u/s at Inland OBGYN or Inland Imaging when none available in office
- Prepare written RX’s for all class narcotics
- Look up medication not rec, for pregnancy, or nursing patients
- Advise on activities or restrictions for PO and or OB patients
- Chart in detail, with limited abbreviations remembering it’s a legal document
- Fill out returns to work or change in work status, proof of pregnancy
- Apply protocol for treatments
- Injection teaching
- Methotrexate injections
- 1st Nurse check Triage telephone encounters, triage lab beans
