MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

• Maintain daily situational awareness across the department.
• Ensure continuity of operations in the manager’s absence.
• Oversight of major operations (anything involving more than one section), VIPs, special projects, special emphasis of areas from the company, subcontractors and Government.
• Oversight of supplies and ordering, ensuring enough on hand to meet daily requirements.
• Conduct required contractor/USG/Unit/Other agency coordination as required to support Trans missions.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Receive and process incident reports and conduct follow up.
• Oversight of department maintenance and status.
• Coordinate with Installation Maintenance Department for priorities.
• Daily operational awareness – use Mission Tracker / Mission Calendar or other method.
• Update LCC Operations Tracker weekly, as required.
• Support all Vectrus HR and Corporate requirements.
• Conduct performance counseling in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Serve as the Vectrus representative in the department to PMO.
• Conduct frequent visits to work areas.
• Maintain daily work calendar in Outlook.
• Attend scheduled meetings as required.
• Provide answers / interact with government representatives, company and sub-contractors as required.
• Establish positive working relationships with all areas within the Transportation department, to include government representatives.
• Provide insight / opinions / counsel to manager.
• Provide 24 hour coverage during DRE’s and real-world deployments requiring 24/7 operations (night shift, weekends and holiday may be required).
• Provide input for required reports, PMR, LPAR and CDRLs.
• Provide guidance and feedback to departmental sections to assist with their day to day missions.
• Develop subordinate leaders through counseling, mentoring and frequent interaction.

• Work may take place in both an office setting and warehouse, to include outdoors.
• Must be able to wear personal protective gear, foot, hand, head and eye wear.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have at least ten years of documented supervisory experience in a transportation related field.
• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in DoD air and surface transportation.
• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in the areas of personal property, unit movement, material movement, and transportation motor pool operations.
• SECRET Security clearance required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
• Must be able to pass a pre employment drug and background test.

• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the smooth operations within the Installation Transportation Division.
• Possess a working knowledge, with two years’ experience, of surface movements via line haul to include, procurement of commercial trucks, transit times for delivery and methods of payments.
• Must have some experience in movement of Household Goods and familiar with governing regulations.
• Must have overall working knowledge to the pre-deployment, sustainment, deployment, and redeployment processes of personnel, cargo and equipment via all modes of transportation.
• Responsible for providing analysis as required for the effective utilization of current and/or projected equipment, facilities, and vehicles; providing departmental coverage; and assisting the Transportation Manager with research and development of new techniques and procedures to increase the efficiency of the transportation operation.

• Ability to troubleshoot in a high pace environment.
• Communicate clearing to all levels of management.

• The government customer has required employees either to provide proof they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, or agree to undergo and provide results of weekly COVID-19 testing.
