Transportation Manager Job at Midwest Transport
Midwest Transport, Inc. is one of the largest transportation contractors associated with the United States Postal Service. A truckload carrier with a national presence. MTI possesses an employee-oriented culture and seeks a proactive Regional Manager to join our team.
The ideal candidate for this position will understand the day-to-day dynamics of the commercial transportation industry, as well as safety procedures - specifically CSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- General Supervision of company drivers
- Manage USPS contracts within your region
- Perform Safety Training for all drivers
- Maintain scheduling of drivers and their route/trips
- Development of high-performance and employee retention
- Create and maintain a workplace culture that supports MTI’s key goals
- Work with other departments to ensure overall success
- Lead employees to meet our organization’s expectations of compliance, safety, and customer service
Skills:
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Ability to handle emergency situations effectively
- Must be Team-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- General computer skills
- Ability to work in a high-pace environment
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with business management
- Understanding of the transportation industry
- Knowledge of CSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations and procedures
- Must have previous relatable experience
