JOB SUMMARY:

In this autonomous role, our local Transport Driver will operate a tractor trailer to make regional, interstate pick-ups of predominantly finished products as well as conducting interplant transfers of goods. This is " no-touch " freight work.

The annual salary range is $58K to $62K.

WHAT OUR LOCAL TRANSPORT DRIVER DOES WEEKLY:

• Plan routes according to delivery schedules/dispatched loads
• Ensure safety and compliance of load
• Comply with operating procedures (e.g., following designated route, etc.)
• Deliver finished products
• Pick up finished products and raw materials
• Obtains proper authorization for all deliveries/pick-ups
• Collect and verify freight instructions
• Must maintain a DOT driver’s log, other required transportation documentation
• Follows all PCVA, DOT and FMCSA standards, regulations and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• High school diploma or GED
• Maintain current DOT Medical Certificate
• 2+ years’ Class A CDL experience preferred
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet company and state of Virginia standards
• Ability to work and track industry hours in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Must be comfortable driving a freight vehicle weighing 26,000+ with a 53 ft trailer
• Experience hauling consumer products and perishable consumer goods is a plus
• Experience operating a tractor-trailer in different conditions (for example, highway driving, side/local roads, city/country, maneuvering in tight spaces and inclement weather)
• Must be customer service oriented
• Ability to work any and all shifts, as necessary
