The Student Finance Training Specialist is responsible for the job training, regulatory compliance, and knowledge retention of Financial Aid personnel surrounding Financial Aid, Customer Service, Regulatory Compliance, and Internal Procedures and Processes. This includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and effectiveness evaluation of training solutions, resources, tools, programs, and experiences. In addition, this role partners with business leaders, subject matter experts, and other training facilitators to analyze and identify performance and learnings needs. This includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and effectiveness evaluation of training solutions, resources, tools, programs, and experiences. In addition, this role partners with business leaders, subject matter experts, and other training facilitators to analyze and identify performance and learnings needs.

  • Design, develop, and implement training materials and tools using various modalities, including: eLearnings, videos, PDF and SharePoint knowledge resources, remotely-facilitated ILT, web-based simulations, and performance support to support Student Finance staff and leadership.
  • Maintain training resources, including existing training material, SharePoint pages and sites, job aids and references, and employee training and assessment performance data.
  • Partner with Student Finance Directors, Managers and Subject Matter Experts to conduct needs analysis and develop and implement training solutions
  • Develop course objectives, content, assessment, and evaluation criteria
  • Build and implement knowledge assessments and evaluations to document performance improvement
  • Produce and maintain project plans to ensure timely delivery of training materials and programs
  • Communicates training plans, activities, and outcomes to appropriate stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all training material with approval from FA Policy Team and/or Media Compliance
  • Attains and maintains knowledge of Financial Aid concepts as well as an understanding of PEC Student Finance processes and procedures
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Training & Development to support the training team
  • Provides job assistance and guidance to staff as needed

  • Demonstrate, advocate, and enforce compliance with FA regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge and skill creating digital resources
    • Ability to translate written content into visual descriptions (graphics, animations, interactive charts and graphs, video).
    • Create and edit video, animations, and audio content
    • Articulate Rise 360 course development proficiency
    • LMS uploading, maintenance, and reporting
    • Troubleshooting software and systems
  • Experience in designing and developing learning solutions in multiple delivery methods:
    • Instructor Led Training and Virtual Led Training
    • Web-based Training and Simulations
    • Job Aids and Quick Reference Cards
    • Competency-Based Evaluations
    • Employee Performance Support solutions
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and ADDIE model of training development
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively collaborate, manage conflicts, persuade, and develop others
  • Proficient use of MS Teams, Zoom, Excel (e.g., formulas, macros), PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills along with strong presentation ability
  • Strong organizational, administrative, record keeping & time management skills

Education and Experience: Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Multimedia, Web Development, Training, or other related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience digital content creation:
    • e-learning (e.g., Articulate Rise 360)
    • digital resources (e.g., instructional videos, web development)
    • SharePoint coding, editing, and access management
  • Experience with Title IV and Military Financial Aid regulations and procedures
