Position Summary:

Advanced Computer Learning Company, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Training Specialist for four levels at the Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop, plan, conduct, and administer programs that train and continually improve military personnel's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Training programs may be conducted in a classroom, laboratory, field, or online.

General tasks include:

  • Training Development - Execute curriculum revision and Execute maintenance for training programs for MEDCoE
    • Decompose complex subjects into blocks of instruction, create instruction plans and notes, and develop and integrate graphics/illustrations into instruction materials
    • Develop training courses, prepare appropriate training materials, and conduct research for the necessary materials to develop manuals
    • Provide support for the development of instructor materials, such as training aids, course materials, and background materials
    • Assist in the development of training requirements, strategies and training products training requirements, procedures and training products for MEDCoE's new, improved, and displaced systems and device
    • Provide input in the acquisition process, assuring training capabilities and requirements are identified; documents the training strategy for institutional, operational, and self-development in the System Training Plan (STRAP); provide input to the material developer in the fielding process; new equipment training, and sustainment training and force modernization training; participates in the material development program reviews with the capability, training, and materials developer
  • Course Delivery Support (Logistics) - Provide instructional support to the program of instruction and instructors. Provide support in administration, logistics, training program development, and execution
    • Support course development, test development, or similar staff work
    • Work with the instructors in the classroom and outdoors and in inclement weather to support instruction and labs
    • On occasion, lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 150 pounds, up and down stairs and on uneven terrain in the normal functions of their job
    • Conduct long periods of standing while teaching in the field or classroom- 8-hour shift or longer
    • Perform routine classroom equipment maintenance, laboratory set up and tear down, clean up, and sanitation

Experience/Education/Common Task Requirements:

Specific Experience/Skills:

  • Level I: Up to three (3) years of experience and a BA/BS degree or certification. Experience at this level demonstrating responsibility in assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions
  • Level II: Four (4) to ten (10) years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree or certification. Experience at this level reflects performing all functional duties independently
  • Level III: Over ten (10) years of experience and/or a MA/MS degree or certification. Experience at this level includes working on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of a given program and independently performing all functional duties. May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the actions of all staff assigned to a specific project/task
  • Level IV: A Subject Matter Expert (SME) with qualifications and/or particular expertise that are exceptional and/or highly unique. SMEs do not have specific experience/education qualifications but are leaders for a given area of knowledge. SMEs typically initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to highly complex programs. Provides strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to program and project staff; offers detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for mission-critical challenges/issues; consults with the client to define needs or problems; supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions

Common Task Requirements:

  • Prepare reports, memos, letters, forms, briefings, emails, and other documents using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
  • Make changes to Word documents, modify Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations to enhance their effectiveness or to repair/correct minor errors
  • Accomplish any training necessary to execute tasks
  • Provide customer service as needed and respond to information requests.
  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems and use computers for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, electronic mail, and other applications

  • Successful candidate will be subject to Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
