Tesla Service Distribution is hiring this critical role for our Lathrop, Pomona and Bethlehem Distribution Warehouses. A successful Training, Safety & 5S Lead will be approachable, organized, internally motivated and trustworthy. Our ideal Training, Safety & 5S Lead embodies the Tesla culture and the individualistic approach to training a diverse group of talented individuals, driving safety standards within the locations and ensuring that those standards are consistent with those at other Service Distribution Centers. Additionally this individual will take the same approach to 5S standards as described with training and safety. This individual will need to possess the ability impact those within their location while aligning with management and their peer at other Distribution Locations to drive consistency in training, safety and 5S.
Shift: Tuesday - Friday 2PM - 12:45AM
- Train new team members on end to end processes with emphasis on safety, quality and productivity.
Provide training to existing team members as processes evolve and improve to ensure team member success as processes change.
Track training coverage for all Distribution staff, Identify areas where additional training is required, while adding to and removing training retirements as business needs change.
Assist in retraining low performing team members to assist with improvement and development.
Work with Management, Supervisors, Leads and area experts on training plans and coordinating schedules with their group and conduct area cross-training to allow for a flexible, efficient work team.
Perform Instruction, Certification and Safety audits on shift.
Monitor trends of Certification Audit failures and develop a plan for corrective action with Leads and Supervisors. Participate in problem solving activities for Certification Audit Failures to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
Explain KPIs and metrics to team members in ways entry level team members can digest to set clear expectations up from day 1.
Audit training record data for accuracy.
Maintain accurate and up to date standard operating procedure documentation.
Collaborate with EH&S to maintain Tesla Safety standards while improving standards for requirements specific to Distribution needs.
Share and standardize safety practices with other Distribution warehouses for best in class safety network wide.
In-depth understanding of quality & safety requirements with suggestions to prevent future occurrence of known issues.
Promote continuous improvement of all training programs.
Promote a culture of high 5S standards.
Facilitate on-shift New Hire Orientation activities.
Certify team members on forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Culture leader who constantly tests Tesla standards with a constant eye for "raising the bar".
Evidence of exceptional ability.
Experience in high volume training or coordination/administrative role in a fast-paced environment and leadership role.
Past experience with promoting EH&S, Safety and 5S programs.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to facilitate training classes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including solid interpersonal skills.
Displays empathy, patience & an interest in adult learning.
Demonstrates personal leadership and accountability.
Ability to set one's own daily schedule based on needs specified by business needs.
