GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Engineer, Tooling is responsible for engineering complex non-standard SPI class 101 and 102 injection molding tools for mass production.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and engineer complex non-standard SPI class 101 and 102 injection molding tools for mass production
Responsible for the preparation of new mold specifications/ key characteristics and technical drawings including precise GD&T
Perform design review of products for manufacturability/ mold making (DFM)
Conduct mold design reviews with internal and external tooling manufacturers
Leads in Continuous Improvement projects and lean system application as assigned
Maintain a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Work effectively and collaboratively with others
Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Degree
4+ years of experience in engineering, tooling development or project management
Experience with PTC Creo Parametric or Pro/Engineer software
Knowledge and experience of the injection manufacturing process including raw materials and production processes
Knowledge of co-molding, two-shot molding, and insert molding
Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of plastic engineering and manufacturing principles
Experience with technical troubleshooting of injection molds & related production equipment
Active in continuous tooling technology improvements
Good communication skills and ability to interface with related departments
Ability to work on broad range of assignments with minimum supervision
Knowledge of systems processes that ensure decisions are data driven

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree preferred
Knowledge of SolidWorks, Alias or Rhino software
Knowledge of Two-Shot Injection Molding
Experience with Creo 2.0 Pro/Engineer 5 software
Experience in designing 3D mechanisms
Mechanism/ motion design in CREO software

Pay Range: $83,365.00 - $117462

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
