What will you do?
As a Thermal Engineer you will create thermal (heat transfer) analytical models and perform thermal analysis including steady state, transient, and on-orbit solutions. You will present findings to the project team, company, or customer and write reports to document analysis results and conclusions. In this position, you will play a key role on the Thermal Analysis team – acting as a mentor for more junior engineers, delegating and reviewing work as well as contributing to business development efforts by writing proposals.

What are we looking for?

  • BS or MS (typically in mechanical, aerospace, structural, or similar engineering field)
  • 5+ years of Thermal Analysis work experience
  • Experience in Thermal Desktop
  • Experience with or willingness to learn STOP (structural, thermal, optical performance) analysis
  • Experience in spacecraft and optical systems, on-orbit thermal analysis, and TVAC testing
  • US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced Thermal Analysis features (articulation, automation of temperature mapping, orbit definition)
  • Experience or expertise in one or more of the following: Thermal Desktop, Maya TMG, NX Thermal, STK, SINDA, FEMAP, NASTRAN, ANSYS, or other widely used commercial code
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, Java, or another programming language
