Therapeutic Activity Specialist Job at Project Hospitality Inc
Position Summary:
The therapeutic activity specialist is responsible for the implementation of enrichment activities, including but not limited to recreational and educational activities for all tenants. The therapeutic activity specialist is responsible for planning and leading groups, disbursing community resource information and updates, and is required to maintain clinical documentation of all client engagements and outreach attempts.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and implements groups for residents
- Provides support/ assistance in fostering and enhancing client self-sufficiency through recreational and educational activities
- Works directly with clients to identify extracurricular activities and goals that enhance quality of life and independent living skills (groups with themes of coping skills, time management, stress management, etc)
- Maintains charting/ documentation within agency and funder compliance standards
- Provides support in departmental initiatives such as educational and recreational activities, linkage with community partners/ resources, skill building workshops, and overall program engagement
- Follow clients through the educational/ vocational continuum, and will collaborate with client/case management to develop individualized approaches to enhancing client self-sufficiency
Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field. Experience working with homeless populations and or low income/ disadvantaged populations is a plus. In addition, the therapeutic activity specialist shall perform any duties as required to meet the needs of the program and the clients we serve.
