Job Summary:

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Territory Account Manager will sell products for the manufacturer / distributor to clinical and industrial microbiology labs/establishments, or private businesses within Southern California for the counties of Imperial, Inyo, Orange, riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Gather and compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, internet web sites, referrals, networking opportunities and other sources to solidify existing business and develop new business;

Travel throughout the assigned territory of Wisconsin and Illinois to call on regular and prospective customers;

Present products, using samples, literature, catalog, website, etc. emphasizes features and benefits;

Prepare quotes, prices and credit terms for orders obtained;

Manage all distributor relationships within Wisconsin and Illinois;

Travel together with distributor representatives;

Provide accurate after sale information to customers to include estimates of delivery dates based on company’s production and delivery schedule; keep customer informed of orders in process up to date of delivery;

Prepare business interaction reports and enter into company software, Pivotal;.

Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities current;

Assist in new hire sales training, as required;

Set up new customer accounts within internal database; investigate and resolves customer problems with deliveries, when required; assist in new and existing customer training, as required;

Other duties as necessary in this sales / business development endeavor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or similar discipline and previous successful track-record in related sales role within the microbiology industry; or combination of education and experience;

Possess strong mathematical acumen to be able to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume;

Exemplary oral / written communication and interpersonal skills;

Ability to travel and be out in the field at least 50% of the time;

Possess exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Compensation:

$70K - $90K annual base salary, plus potential to earn $68K in commission for this full-time, exempt position;

Performance reviews every 6 months with salary increase potential based on merit;
