As a temporary employee of the state personnel system, you are employed at will and are not eligible for the same benefits as permanent employees, such as health insurance and annual leave. However, temporary employees are eligible for sick leave and retirement benefits.

Description of Job

Pay for position:

$17.38 - $19.22 Hourly
$1,390.62 - $1,537.38 Biweekly
$3,013.00 - $3,331.00 Monthly
$36,156.00 - $39,972.00 Annually


This position will take calls from all parties of claims through the Claims Management shared number and daily assistant backup to the claims managers and supervisors, processing daily incoming and outgoing mail, both hard copy and emails.



This position will be in charge of daily distribution of work assignments and download letters to claims managers, and supervisor, processing returned mail and update claims information in Coco, case select cleanup, requests to insurance carriers for positions on claims. and provide sensitive information to some parties of the claims by phone and email.

This position prepares daily orders for Motions to Close to include Orders to Show Cause, Extensions of Time Orders, Orders Granting or Denying Closure and Lump Sum Orders and Denials utilizing specified software (templates). This includes logging Motions to Close, Lump Sum Payments, Petitions, DIME and Error Ratio reports in Access, updates the chronological Coco screen for the disciplines, requests files, third party downloads, refers files, updates format/language, dates and signs certificates of mailing then processes the mail, checks for claimant address changes and implements any changes, if necessary, and determines lien application to specific claims.

Daily Interaction with insurance adjusters, agents, employers, and brokers for extra-territorial requests, and sorting out what documents are needed for the State of Wyoming, Workers Compensation Department, to approve their requests. Should the policies in-force periods not match the period requested for coverage approval. This position must explain to the parties why the request cannot be approved, and what to submit to achieve approval.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Substitutions:

Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Education and Experience:

Two years of general clerical experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Customer service experience interacting with the general public
  • Experience working with multiple people and project collaboration in completing daily tasks.
  • Experience working with Google Apps.
Required Competencies:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word.
  • Working experience with Adobe Pro.
  • Proficient in Access Database.
Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be a Colorado resident at time of application.
