Job Title: Technology Support Specialist
Reports to: Lead Technician
Terms and Conditions: Full-time, 10 months, 7.5 hours per day.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: Grade 2, per Classified Personnel Association collective bargaining agreement.

Oak Park and River Forest High School, or OPRF, is a comprehensive public high school located in Oak Park, Ill., a suburb eight miles due west of downtown Chicago. We are a one-school district, with the majority of our students coming from two sender districts, River Forest Public Schools District 90 and Oak Park Elementary School District 97. We offer more than 200 courses, a variety of programs for students with special needs, 75 clubs and activities, and 29 competitive sports. We prepare our students well for post-secondary success, with an average ACT composite score of 24 and a 94% graduation rate.

Position Summary:
Provides assistance and support to teachers and students in the use of technology, student supervision, and technical assistance to students working with devices

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance under direction of supervisor to teachers and students using technology learning spaces and equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining organized, efficient technology learning spaces.
  • Schedules utilization of common areas and devices.
  • Provides students with technical assistance as needed.
  • Maintains student technology learning spaces usage records and other inventory within the technology learning spaces.
  • Assists with student supervision, maintaining appropriate student behavior.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on technology learning spaces under direction of supervisor and supervise any outside maintenance.
  • Maintains hardware, software, and appropriate supply inventories.
  • Monitors and supports printer use and assists to rectify basic projector and peripheral connectivity.
  • Responsible for checking equipment in/out of assigned technology learning space(s).
  • Performs app distribution and assists in processing app requests.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic computer and appropriate software operation. Google certification or equivalent years of experience with Google apps for education and 1:1 software/hardware. Ability to perform routine maintenance of equipment. Must exercise patience in work with students and faculty. Must be attentive to details. Good organizational skills and good communication skills required. Skill in developing record keeping inventory.

Education:
Minimum of high school diploma; post high school training and hands-on experience in multiple computers/software programs usage equivalent to a minimum of 2 years.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
