Team Member (Front of House)

As a Team Member, you play a crucial role in our success. In selecting Team members, we are looking for hard working, coachable individuals who will share our passion to make an impact on our local Mount Prospect community. You will interact directly with guests in serving their needs with remarkable service and hospitality.


Team Members are responsible for creating and maintaining a fun, enthusiastic, emotionally connected atmosphere for all guests and Team Members who come into contact with the Chick-fil-A Mount Prospect brand.

Expectations of a Team Member:

  • Work your scheduled shifts and arrive on time every shift
  • Arrive for your shift in full uniform: shirt, pants, non-slip shoes, name tag, pen (men must abide by according to new 2021 male appearance guidelines , women with long hair should have it pulled back into a ponytail/bun/braid)
  • Keep a “sense of urgency” and a “pep in your step” when it comes to serving our Guests
  • Serve > Stock > Sanitize. When things slow down, know what you should be doing next
  • Giving up a scheduled shift should be rare**
  • If you committed to a certain availability in the interview, any changes to that availability need to be submitted through HotSchedules, no sooner than 2 weeks out
  • You will be trained in the “Chick-fil-A” way, strive to hold to that standard

Front-of-House Team Members

  • Front Counter/Dining Room: Enthusiastic team members that can create connections with guests and efficiently and energetically complete assigned tasks
  • Drive Thru: Team Members who can perform at high levels of stress and multitasking while maintaining appropriate guest relationships. Must take initiative to fulfill tasks and make on-the-go decisions


Responsibilities of a Team Member:

  • On arrival for your shift, check in with a leader for your assigned position
  • Stay focused on your assigned position and relevant duties, and strive continue developing in that position
  • Although you may have a favorite, be willing and flexible to learn and serve in any position
  • Always serve the guest first, then stock sauces, cups, ice, tea, etc, then clean and tidy
  • You will have specific roles as a Front-of-House or Back-of-House Team Member


Roles

  • Front-of-House
  • Front Counter (Once we get the green to open)
  • Greeting guests
  • Taking orders on POS
  • Handling cash/credit card transactions
  • CFA One App in guest transactions
  • Maintaining cleanliness and stocking on Front Counter during peak and non-peak hours
  • Dining Room
  • Maintaining clean tables, floors, restrooms, foyer, patio, and playground through all peak and non-peak hours according to CFA standard – There is ALWAYS something to do!
  • 2nd Mile Service – interacting with guests who are dining in, offering them exceptional service
  • Drive Thru
  • iPOS - Accurately listening and plugging in guests orders on iPads while maintaining a sense of urgency without rushing the guest
  • iCASH - Properly handling cash payments before guest makes it to the window
  • Running - Based on description in bag, run food to appropriate vehicle
  • When inside, taking orders on headset while making drinks/desserts or bagging
  • Fulfilling guest orders while on window – handling payments and the CFA One app – NEVER turn your back on the guest or leave the window while there is a guest
  • Please note that these duties might overlap with one another during non-peak hours, and there might be more than one person in each duty during peak hours – flexibility in these roles during all hours is key!

Your Experience

You will work alongside a certified trainer for four to five training shifts, learning the ins and outs of the business. During this time, we will equip you with everything you will need to know to succeed here. Over time you will be evaluated by a leader, which will make you eligible for scheduled pay raises and promotions. When regulations allow, The Leadership Team will hold seasonal outings for Team Members to gather outside the four walls of our restaurant and do life together.
