$22.19 - $24.41 hourly depending on experience.

What you'll do

The Teacher Aide is responsible for assisting in the designing and implementing of structured education classes at the Selma Carson Home. Under the supervision of the Education Program Manager and in accordance with appropriate Washington State regulations, the Teacher Aide assists with duties related to academic and physical education assessment, curriculum development, instruction and outcomes. The Teacher Aide is expected to assist residents in all areas of their physical, academic and vocational education program.

As a member of the Pioneer team, the Teacher Aide is expected to collaborate with other staff and community partners to promote a pro-social and supportive program climate that encourages the development of independent living skills. The Teacher Aid is also encouraged to make recommendations to improve operational policies and procedures consistent with program goals and the Pioneer mission.


What you'll bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years working with youth in educational and/or residential settings.
  • Must pass and maintain required background clearance as required by DSHS.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
  • Current TB Test Results

Preferably you'll bring

  • Spanish/English Bilingual
  • Knowledge of Mexican and Central American cultures
