Tax Senior Associate Job at Daszkal Bolton LLP
Senior Associates can perform most engagements with little supervision. They direct and review the work of associates and can make decisions on most accounting and tax matters. When unusual situations arise, they present the pertinent information to the engagement manager or partner and follow their advice. Senior Associates are responsible for organizing and coordinating clients’ tax data for the accurate, timely completion of individual and corporate income tax returns. CPA designation is highly desired.
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Requests and reviews information submitted by client for completeness; meets with and/or communicates with clients regarding any questions or missing documentation
- Possesses sufficient knowledge of tax regulations to answer clients’ questions
- Prepares personal tax returns of various complexities
- Prepares corporate, partnership and S Corp tax returns not requiring advanced expertise
- Prepares amended tax returns not requiring advanced expertise
- Prepares personal tax projections through the utilization of computer software
- Responds to tax notices of any sort and does initial drafts of any related correspondence required
- Performs tax research projects requiring minimal expertise
- Prepares property tax refund forms, employee benefit plan tax returns, carryback returns for NOLs, and payroll tax returns
- Prepares tax accruals as may be required in preparing corporate tax returns
- Possesses the technical knowledge
- Supervises entry-level tax associates and provides on-the-job training
- 2-3 years of previous experience in progressively challenging, relevant positions
- CPA designation required
- Advanced degree in accounting or related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Experience training/working with entry-level new hires
