Open Door is seeking a System Administrator to work in our Ossining, NY Headquarters. This role will maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient network. This role deploys, configures, maintains, and monitors IT infrastructure in order to ensure smooth network operations, a secure environment, and enhanced performance. The team comprises of network, telecom, server, database, data center operations, and security operations. The team is responsible for ensuring infrastructure availability, providing business continuity, and interoffice connectivity. Supporting the daily operations of the firm’s core systems infrastructure (Windows Servers, Networking, Unix) and maintaining that infrastructure with special focus on availability, security, and reliability.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver 8:30am-5pm support, and 24/7 monitoring of infrastructure platform services responding to any service disruptions, and occasional off hours and weekend work
  • Consistently monitor platform availability and uptime, based on performance SLA’s. Familiar with aspects of monitoring an enterprise network. Experience with LogicMonitor is a plus
  • Service and support a WAN across multiple (40+) sites of different sizes
  • Working with a cloud computing platform like Azure Virtual Desktop or Horizon (VDI)
  • Patching of systems, servers, applications, and endpoints using enterprise management solution
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and rapidly integrate changes driven by a growth business
  • Work collaboratively with key IT and business stakeholders including business unit IT teams, vendors and 3rd party service providers to identify and implement improvements
  • Managing and maintaining Open Door servers and related infrastructure, and provide baseline configurations
  • Strict discipline in managing the configuration and operations systems through change management processes
  • Utilize infrastructure monitoring tools to proactively ensure uptime and stability of systems and look for opportunities to improve
  • Utilize security monitoring and analytical tools to alert of potential cybersecurity issues or breaches
  • Working with SQL databases, data sharing and FHIR technologies
  • Participate in all areas of IT infrastructure team including deploying software, voice/telephone systems, cabling
  • Look for efficiencies in operating environment through automation and scripting
  • Monitoring and maintaining the integrity of all backup and recovery systems.
  • Manage VMware environment and participate in upgrades, new deployments, and architectural changes
  • Knowledge and practice focused on managing mission-critical systems
  • Create and update system documentation and architecture diagrams
  • Manage operational projects as well as large scale corporate IT projects
  • Serve as an escalation point for IT Service Desk staff

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree/experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting operational production environments
  • 5+ years of experience in a complex Windows environment, with some Linux knowledge as well
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, strong commitment to following and improving processes and procedures
  • Dedication to producing useful and detailed documentation
  • Security focused with a production mindset
  • Key Technologies:

  • Knowledge in VMWare ESX/vSphere, or other virtualization technologies, in a high availability clustered environment
  • Experience with electronic health record platforms is a plus
  • Expertise in writing Windows Power Shell scripts for automation or maintenance
  • ITIL knowledge and practice focused on managing mission critical systems, ITIL Certification desired
  • Cisco or Fortify training
  • Microsoft certification is desired
  • System and application experience
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and successfully executing complex IT projects
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Ability to set up and configure server systems and applications
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Administration of IT infrastructure, including server operating systems
  • At least 5 years of experience managing on premise and Azure Active Directory
  • 5+ years of experience administering a production environment (with an uptime target 99.99% or greater)
  • 5+ years of experience in a complex Windows environment, with some Linux knowledge as well
  • System and application experience, including:
    • Cloud platforms; O365, Azure, etc.
    • Microsoft 365 Defender Endpoint Protection and Advanced Threat Protection
    • Highly available networking systems
    • VMware and Microsoft virtualization technologies
    • Enterprise-level SANs and server infrastructures
    • Operating Systems: Linux, Microsoft Windows
    • Automation/scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
    • Clustering and high availability technologies
    • MDM solutions; Intune, etc.
    • System builds and configuration management (e.g., WSUS, SCOM)
  • Experience in setting up and configuring server systems and applications
  • Experience working closely with backup and recovery software and methodologies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Manual dexterity and regular hours at computer keyboard
  • Approximately 75% sitting and 25% walking/standing
  • Bending and lifting may be required
  • Potential travel to site locations may be required
