Surgery Coordinator/Medical Assistant Job at Treasure Valley Eye Center
Our busy Ophthalmology/Optometry practice is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Surgery Coordinator to join our team! We are looking for a personable, professional, and empathetic person. This individual is responsible for performing an extensive number of data collection functions as delegated by the physician including performing diagnostic tests/work-ups, scribing for the physician, and providing accurate summarization of the ocular examination. This position is great for those who really care about helping patients and want to further their health care career!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Scheduling all surgeries.
-Obtaining insurance prior authorizations.
-Obtaining patient health/medical history as well as playing a major role in patient education.
-Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and surgery center staff.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
-Self-starter with an eagerness to learn.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Problem solving and analytical skills.
-Strong organization with attention to detail.
-Knowledge of ophthalmic and medical terminology.
-Ability to work as a team member, demonstrating respect for staff and patients.
-Maintain patient confidentiality.
-Demonstrated computer literacy.
Some experience is preferred but we are more than willing to train the right person!
Salary depends on experience.
