SUPPORT SERVICE – VEHICLE OPERATOR (PART-TIME) @16.20/hr

JOB SUMMARY:
Transports individuals to directed destinations according to program and agency guidelines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Provides transportation to individuals with the agency; assists with boarding and exiting the vehicles; traveling the most efficient routes
  • Performs routine maintenance and safety check of vehicles
  • Promptly reports all accidents and mechanical breakdowns according to established policies and guidelines
  • Inspects vehicles for safe operations utilizing safety equipment efficiently, ensuring the use of safety belts
  • Assist with transporting individuals to hospitals, clinics, social functions, and/or other activities according to established guidelines and time frames
  • Communicate individuals emerging behavioral and/or medical concerns to the supervisor within 24 hours of knowledge
  • Maintain a valid and appropriate license to operate assigned vehicle
  • Accurately record required mileage, fuel consumption, passenger information, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with agency policy and procedures
  • Report changes in individuals’ behavior and/or emerging medical conditions to manager or supervisor immediately upon discovery.
  • Complete program and agency trainings and certifications as assigned.
SKILL, COMPETENCY AND EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or transporting individuals.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal applicant must have experience working with developmental disabilities population and operating a 10 to 15 passenger vehicle and or ADA Equipped wheelchair vehicle.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires regular lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting individuals when required. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.

Pre-employment drug screening may be required. Selected applicant will be subject of an FBI Criminal History Record Check, and the applicant has the right to challenge the contents of their Criminal History Record Information, should they choose to do so.
